By accessing or using Arena Chasers ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Arena Chasers. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Description of Service

Arena Chasers is a web application that allows users to:

• Track visits to NHL arenas
• Check in at arenas using GPS verification
• View NHL game schedules, standings, and player information
• Compete with friends on leaderboards
• Earn achievements and badges
• Participate in trivia challenges
• Share check-ins with friends

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To use the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your password
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Be responsible for all activity under your account

3.2 Account Requirements

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
• One account per person (no duplicate accounts)
• Accounts must not impersonate others
• You may not sell, transfer, or share your account

3.3 Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through your Account Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.

4. User Conduct

You agree NOT to:

• Create fake check-ins or manipulate your location
• Use automated bots or scripts to interact with the Service
• Harass, bully, or threaten other users
• Post offensive, illegal, or inappropriate content
• Spam or send unsolicited messages
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
• Reverse engineer or copy the Service
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

5. Check-Ins and Geolocation

5.1 GPS Verification

Check-ins require GPS verification to confirm you are within 500 meters of the arena. We use GPS data to prevent fake check-ins and maintain the integrity of leaderboards.

5.2 Accuracy

While we strive for accuracy, GPS data may not always be perfectly accurate due to device limitations, signal interference, or other factors. We are not responsible for check-in disputes based on GPS inaccuracies.

5.3 Honest Use

You agree to only check in at arenas you have physically visited. Attempting to fake check-ins, spoof GPS locations, or manipulate data may result in account suspension.

6. Content Ownership

6.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of content you upload (photos, notes, comments). By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content as necessary to operate the Service.

6.2 Our Content

All other content, including the Arena Chasers name, logo, design, and features, are owned by Arena Chasers and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

6.3 NHL Data

NHL game data, team logos, and player information are provided by third-party APIs. We do not own this content. NHL and the NHL Shield are registered trademarks of the National Hockey League.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services including:

• NHL Web API (game data)
• ESPN Sports API (injury reports)
• OpenStreetMap (arena maps)
• Cloudinary (photo hosting)

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of third-party services. Your use of these services may be subject to their own terms and conditions.

9. Disclaimers

9.1 "As Is" Service

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

9.2 No Guarantee

We do not guarantee that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Defects will be corrected
• The Service is free of viruses or harmful components
• Data will always be accurate or up-to-date

9.3 Not Affiliated with NHL

Arena Chasers is an independent application and is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the National Hockey League (NHL) or any NHL team.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ARENA CHASERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST TWELVE MONTHS, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS LESS.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Arena Chasers from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another person or entity
• Content you post or upload

12. Changes to Service

We reserve the right to:

• Modify or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time
• Change pricing or introduce fees for certain features
• Limit features or access to certain users

We will provide reasonable notice of significant changes, but we are not obligated to do so.

13. Dispute Resolution

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Arena Chasers.

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.

14.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our consent, but we may assign our rights to any party without restriction.
